Thank you for listening to Jay of the Dead’s New Horror Movies, The Gold Standard of Horror Movie Podcasts.
Ah, man! I thought Gatloop (sp) would be revealed to mean “Pool Tag” (ala Redrum). 🙁
That’s a dad joke, Dr. Bishop, but I’ll accept it. 🙂
Had to pause the show after the Deadstream review, which I watched last night. Having come off a run of watching some real downers (in the last month: Coming Home in the Dark, Incident in a Ghostland, Them/Ils, and Speak No Evil. Bleak stuff), Deadstream was terrific fun and the Evil Dead comparisons are definitely on target. Thanks for the review/recommendation. I’m going to show it to my horror-loving 13 year-old daughter tonight!
Ok folks – Watched We’re All Going to the World’s Fair and thought that I might be as pleasantly surprised as I was with Deadstream. No Dice. It’s a 2-star (3/10) at best. Nothing happens in this film. Jay – did I get it correct that you gave this movie a freaking 8/10 after giving Carpenter’s original Halloween an 8.5???
Apologies to Jay – I see he gave it a 7 – not an 8. Still way too high of a rating.
Here you go, Jay.
The Evil Dead is horror.
Evil Dead II is horror/comedy.
Army of Darkness is comedy.
You’re welcome! 😀
Loved the “Evil Dead II-ness” of Deadstream!
