Thank you for listening to Jay of the Dead’s New Horror Movies, The Gold Standard of Horror Movie Podcasts.
Well, great lists all around! Here is my Top 10 of 2022:
1) Speak No Evil
2) Pearl
3) Fresh
4) The Sadness
5) Barbarian
6) Soft and Quiet
7) Piggy
8) Watcher
9) Phil Tippett’s Mad God
10) Christmas Bloody Christmas
Here was my Top Ten:
I can’t believe Terrifier 2, Two Witches and MAD GOD didn’t make my list, but it was a good year for Horror.
Round of applause! So excited that this mega top 10 project was completed. Better late than never, and Jay… you adding up the days gave me an existential crisis about how far behind my own projects are. Thanks for finishing this!
Yes yes yes… Jay of the Dead & Mister Watson having the most similar lists. Great minds thinking alike and such.
Great way to wrap this Top 10 series up – and I’ve got to give props to Ron Martin for his surprise #1 pick! I love what Chris LaMartina does, and a return trip to the WNUF universe is awesome. For anyone who may not already be aware, Terror Vision has an upcoming release of the Out There Halloween Mega Tape, and they’ve put out a number of LaMartina’s other movies too.
That universe is so clever and so well done. You can tell there is a lot of heart put into it and it was an experience more than a movie. It’s also a movie easy to revisit. Thanks for your comment and lets hope theres more to come. I’m all in. However I have to buy it, I will.
It may be out of print at this point, but they also put out an LP that was “WNUF TV28 presents Frank Stewart Investigates: Halloween.” A fun addition to the universe that’s worth checking out too, if you haven’t already and get the chance. I really do love the whole vibe of what they’ve created here.
I did listen to this once — I think maybe on Spotify or perhaps it was on YouTube. Chris has got me. Whatever his next project is, I’m there for it.
I was just sending an email letting y’all know I got my prize in the mail, listening to the back catalogue for the third time (Episode 2) as I typed, and lo’ and behold: I click back to the episode list 30 minutes later and a brand new episode is waiting for me.
Time to tune in and take notes on all these brand new 2022 releases 😉
