HAPPY HALLOWEEN this month! It’s time for our next Top 10 Horror Movies of 2023 list here in Episode 118 of Jay of the Dead’s New Horror Movies, The Gold Standard of Horror Movie Podcasts. In this episode, we are counting down three individuals’ Top 10 Horror of 2023 lists: You will hear from Jay of the Dead and his son, Horror Avenger in Training, Spawn of the Dead. And you will also hear from our Official Contributor, Kagan “The Fruit Brute” Breitenbach! This episode gets surprisingly wacky at times, so we hope that those who listen are feeling in good humor and good-natured. After all, it is Kagan’s first time ever presenting a Top 10 list on a podcast — and Spawn’s first time ever even creating a Top 10 list! At one point, Kagan even sneaks a 2024 Horror movie into his list, and Spawn of the Dead breaks his list down to considering even the foley work in Horror films! Jay includes an “Unofficial Award for the Most _______ Horror Movies of 2023” for each film pick. And of course, as Jay, Spawn and Kagan count ’em down from 10 to 1, we continue to carry on our tradition of awarding a free Horror Blu-ray to a lucky listener! So, join us if you really wanna be an HB!

Thank you for listening to Jay of the Dead’s New Horror Movies, The Gold Standard of Horror Movie Podcasts.
Year end lists are my favorite time of the year! Having so many installments of said lists are making me feel spoiled rotten lately! This is so fun! Thank you for putting these out! It’s so fun to hear everyone’s lists.
If I didn’t party foul and have “Late Night with the Devil”, a technically 2024 US film, at the time of recording this show, “Socks” (aka SawX) would’ve been my no. 10 and the rest of my list would be the same. The being said, I did get a chance to watch “The Pale Blue Eyes” and “Blood” after we recorded, both of which would’ve been included at the very least in my honorable mentions if not in my top 10. Thanks to everyone for hanging in there for all our shenanigans. Oh boy… haha, this is a long top 10 show, but I had a ton of fun with it.
I agree we need more Spawn. I like the younger Horror fan views, and just like Jay, he puts some obscure movies on his list.
Terrifier 3 is one bad ass movie! Also watched Strange Darling. That is a cinema masterpiece! I enjoyed it a ton! Wish I would of saw it in the Theater.
May I add that I love spawn’s geography kmowledge. Haha. And I love that spawn highlighted FNAF. Great movie indeed. We need more spawn podcasting. Great kid
Great point on your number 10s. When there is a gimmick it gives me anxiety. Whether it’s one shot or no dialogue. I find myself focusing on when they will break that rule and it completely takes me out of a movie
lol oh my gosh – Jan-Gel thanks you for your service, Jay, Joel and crew! 🫡 This gave me a hearty laugh on my birthday morning!
